Child's placemat - learn through living

Gift for 2 girls, child's placemat, with reverse applique for the detail, and curtain fabric remnant for the placemat.
I'm planning on making a couple of these for my boys!

When I made these, I didn't have enough vlisofix (not sure how to spell that) to secure the stripy material, and stop fraying on the main fabric, but the succesive ones I've made I've used a sheet of fusible webbing on the whole placemat and it worked much, much better.  And, I've now got the spoon facing left - the way it should be.

Made on 20 November, just in time for the girls' birthday party!
