Blue Boy Booties

Found a cute pattern on etsy ages and ages ago for a crocheted pair of booties, and cap.  It's American, and my crochet style is somewhat of a mix of English and American, so I had to watch I was doing the right stitches.

I have done a cap in the same style for my nephew last Christmas, and now need to redo the cap which I've done to match these, as I'm just not happy with it.  But hey, these booties are seriously cute.  Took 5 solid attempts (on each shoe!) - let's just say the yarn is a tad worn....  The sizing was quite difficult as I used Cleckheaton wool in the chunkiest guage I could find, and the pattern used (from memory) some kind of worsted weight yarn.  Which means zippo to me!  Hence the 5 attempts, and of course, they are too big for the little guy.  Maybe they'll keep his feet warm in summer.  I mean, I might have re-done the cap by then.....?

Finished 'em sometime in mid-July.
